Workshops, Classes, and Private Instruction
Stacey D. Miller has instructed, worked with, assisted, and printed for numerous local, national, and international artists through the [Press] at Untitled and other local art studios. In 2011, she printed for and assisted artist and designer, John-Paul Philippe, for his exhibit, “In Design: The Art of John-Paul Philippe” hosted at [Artspace] at Untitled. That same year she assisted Christine Sefolosha in the print studio for her exhibits hosted at [Artspace] at Untitled and JRB Art at the Elms. In September, 2011, Stacey taught an extensive three weekend workshop at the [Press] at Untitled introducing new and intermediate printmakers the basics of printing through the Monotype process as well as knowledge on how to use and care for printing equipment. Stacey D. Miller has also taught hobbyists and children the wonderful world of printmaking and other art media and processes through various art camps, workshops, classes, and festivals throughout Oklahoma.
In the summer of 2011, Stacey moved her home studio to the Plaza Arts District, where she is planning to host small workshops, private instruction sessions, group critiques, etc. If you are interesting in booking Stacey D. Examples of Past Workshops include:
January 11th, 2014: One day workshop covering the basics of the monotype printing process using Akua inks and a pin press at the Oklahoma History Center.
April 20th, 2012: Visiting Artist at Cameron University's Fine Arts Department in Lawton, OK. Stacey D. Miller worked with printmaking and art students in the studio showing examples of her prints as well as creating some of her Natural Impression prints in the printmaking studio in order to express her methods in creating these one of a kind Monoprints.
Feb. 18th, 2012: One day Workshop covering the basics of how to use and care for an etching press as well as covering the basics of relief and montype printmaking techniques with Ponca City Art Center Members/Artists.
Sept. 10 - 11, 17 - 18, 24 - 25, 2011: Fine art printmaker and [Press] at Untitled studio manager Stacey D. Miller taught a six day workshop, Introduction to Printmaking. This workshop was appropriate for entry level and intermediate printmakers and covered a variety of printmaking processes that involved transferring an image from a flat surface as opposed to an incised or raised surface. This workshop is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge necessary to become self-sufficient studio printers.
